I have reset it, signed out and back in, and it shows it's active on my personal account on the website, but for some reason my Defender app in Win11 won't sync; it just keeps asking me to start a new trial now after I've reinstalled and signed in again. Is there anything else I can do?

    Hi,

    To narrow this down:

    1. Is Defender signed in with the exact same Microsoft account that shows the active Microsoft 365 Personal subscription at https://account.microsoft.com/services?
    2. When you sign in at https://mydefender.microsoft.com, does it open the Defender dashboard or ask you to start a trial?
    3. Is any third-party antivirus software installed or active, such as McAfee, Norton, Avast, or AVG?

If a third-party antivirus is installed, uninstall it temporarily, restart the PC, and then sign in to Microsoft Defender again, make sure there's no third-party antivirus software active that might be interfering with the license process:

    • Open the Windows Security app.
    • Click the "Settings" (gear icon) in the lower left.
    • Under Security Providers, click "Manage Providers".
    • Verify if Microsoft Defender Antivirus is the active antivirus and Windows Firewall is the firewall.
    • If not, please uninstall the third-party antivirus, restart your PC, and check again.

Also check that the Microsoft Store is signed in with the same Microsoft account, then open "Microsoft Store" > "Library" > "Get updates."

Please share what happens on the Defender website and which antivirus software is installed if there's any.

    Thanks!
