Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi,
To narrow this down:
- Is Defender signed in with the exact same Microsoft account that shows the active Microsoft 365 Personal subscription at https://account.microsoft.com/services?
- When you sign in at https://mydefender.microsoft.com, does it open the Defender dashboard or ask you to start a trial?
- Is any third-party antivirus software installed or active, such as McAfee, Norton, Avast, or AVG?
If a third-party antivirus is installed, uninstall it temporarily, restart the PC, and then sign in to Microsoft Defender again, make sure there's no third-party antivirus software active that might be interfering with the license process:
- Open the Windows Security app.
- Click the "Settings" (gear icon) in the lower left.
- Under Security Providers, click "Manage Providers".
- Verify if Microsoft Defender Antivirus is the active antivirus and Windows Firewall is the firewall.
- If not, please uninstall the third-party antivirus, restart your PC, and check again.
Also check that the Microsoft Store is signed in with the same Microsoft account, then open "Microsoft Store" > "Library" > "Get updates."
Please share what happens on the Defender website and which antivirus software is installed if there's any.
Thanks!
