Using the New Outlook for Mac for personal email and calendar
Hi Pam Bradley,
I understand how concerning it is to find that a folder you created and used yesterday has disappeared.
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access or restore mailbox data directly. However, you can check the following:
- Expand your complete folder list in Outlook, including Deleted Items, and check whether the missing folder was accidentally moved beneath another folder.
- Sign in to the same account through its webmail, such as Outlook.com for an Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, or MSN account. Check the full folder list and Deleted Items there.
- Search for the name or subject of a message that was stored in the missing folder. If found, its current location may help identify where the folder or messages were moved.
If the folder is also absent from webmail, check whether its messages are available through Recover items deleted from this folder. Microsoft explains the recovery options here: Recover and restore deleted items in Outlook.
If the folder remains visible in webmail but not in Outlook for Mac, please update Outlook and restart the Mac. If the folder still does not appear, open Outlook and select Help > Contact Support, then describe the missing folder and when it was last visible. Please be aware that this option is not available in the free version of Outlook. Contact support within Outlook for Mac.
Please also reply with the email provider and confirm whether the missing folder appears in webmail. I hope this helps locate the folder or determine where it was removed.
