Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Dear @Mylan Diederiks,
Based on your description, it sounds like the device may still be associated with your school's organization even though the school account is no longer visible on the device.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
- Check for Work or School account connections
Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- If the school account or organization is listed: Select it > Choose Disconnect.
- Restart the device and test again.
- Verify device registration status
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
dsregcmd /status
Check the following values:
AzureAdJoined
EnterpriseJoined
WorkplaceJoined
If any of these show YES, the device may still be registered with the organization.
To remove the registration, run:
dsregcmd /leave
Then restart the device.
- Remove cached account credentials
- Open Control Panel > Credential Manager.
- Select Windows Credentials.
- Remove any entries related to:
- Azure AD / Entra ID
- Microsoft Office using the school account
- The school's domain
Also check:
Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts > Accounts used by other apps
Remove the school account if it is still present.
If you have tried all the methods above but still cannot resolve the issue, please provide me more information as: Does it appear any error message of the issue? So I can support you more effectively.
Looking forward to your update.
