Hey there. Nice to meet you.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

Based on your description, the hacker was able to remove the account's primary email address/security info and replace it with their own email address, which is why you received the error your account is not recognized when signing in.

Since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

    1. On the affected PC, run a full antivirus or malware scan before changing anything else. Microsoft recommends a full scan before changing the password on a compromised account. On Windows 10/11, Windows Defender is already available from Start and searching for Windows Defender.
    2. Try the Microsoft Sign-in Helper first. This is the recommended first step for sign-in and recovery problems, especially if the account is no longer recognized or the recovery options were changed.
    3. If the sign-in page says “We couldn't find an account with that username” or the account does not exist, use the Sign-in Helper tool. If the email spelling is correct, also check whether the account had another alias or phone number and try that instead.
    4. If sign-in still fails, complete the Account recovery form. To improve the chance of success:
      • Fill it out on a device previously used to sign in to the account.
      • Do it from a familiar location such as home.
      • Use a working email address that can receive Microsoft’s reply.
      • Microsoft states it reviews the answers and responds within 24 hours.
    5. If unusual sign-in alerts were received and access is regained, go to Security basics and review recent activity. For any activity that was not authorized, select This wasn't me or Secure your account, then change the password.
    6. After access is restored, check account settings that are commonly changed after compromise, including connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies.
    7. If the account has been locked and the sign-in flow does not show Next, use the aka.ms/ link shown in that window and submit the reinstatement form. Microsoft says not to submit multiple requests because that can slow the response.
    8. If the account had two-step verification enabled and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, Microsoft states support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details.
    9. If the account has not been signed in to for more than two years, Microsoft says it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.
