Microsoft designer in windows 11 won't crop images anymore

Hi, I have been using the integrated designer app in windows photos for about 2 years to crop images but now all of a sudden it won't crop the images. When I save a cropped image it saves but the image that is produced is not cropped.

The saved image should reflect the crop, so this appears to be an issue with the integrated Designer editor rather than expected behavior.

For now, use the local Photos editor:

1. Open the image in Photos.
2. Select Edit image or press Ctrl + E.
3. Select Crop, make the adjustment, then save the image.

This uses the built-in Photos editor instead of the online Designer experience and should provide a practical workaround.

Try these checks in order:

1. Open the image as a single photo in Microsoft Photos.
   • In Photos, select the image from All Photos so it opens by itself.
   • The integrated Designer experience only appears when a single image is already open.
2. Confirm the PC is online.
   • Edit with Designer is an online editing experience and requires an internet connection.
3. If cropping is the goal, test the built-in Photos editor instead of Designer.
   • In Photos, open the picture.
   • Select Edit image (Ctrl + E).
   • Use Crop to trim the image.
   • Save the result and verify whether the saved file is cropped correctly.
   • Photos supports manual crop, preset aspect ratios, rotate, and flip.
4. If the issue happens only in Designer, use Photos editing as a workaround.
