In my organization, we have the registry key [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] enabled and named Microsoft.Office.Outlook.Hub.HubBar. We've noticed that this entry, in addition to moving the bar to the bottom, also hides the Copilot button. What would happen if we disabled the "Show apps in Outlook" option in Outlook -> Options -> Advanced?

Is there a key combination that keeps the bar at the bottom while still allowing the Copilot button to function?

Dear @Vicente B,

The registry value Microsoft.Office.Outlook.Hub.HubBar and the Outlook setting File > Options > Advanced > Show apps in Outlook control the same feature set in Classic Outlook, namely the modern app/navigation experience that places the navigation bar on the left side.

As a result, when the registry override is configured to move the navigation bar back to the bottom (or when Show apps in Outlook is disabled), the Apps framework is also disabled. Since the Copilot button is integrated into that Apps experience, it will be hidden and unavailable. This is expected behavior.

Therefore, if you disable Show apps in Outlook, the navigation bar will remain at the bottom, but the Copilot button will also be removed. At this time, I am not aware of a supported registry key or configuration that keeps the navigation bar at the bottom while simultaneously retaining the Copilot button in Classic Outlook.

In summary:

• Show apps in Outlook = Enabled > Left navigation bar + Copilot available.
• Show apps in Outlook = Disabled (or HubBar override applied) > Bottom navigation bar + Copilot hidden.
