Microsoft 365 subscriptions only support the currency of the country or region where you’re currently located. If you have an Office 365 subscription from a different country, you’ll need to cancel it first.

For Microsoft 365 Family, the billing country/region on an existing subscription cannot be changed directly. Microsoft 365 subscriptions are tied to the country/region where they were purchased.

What to do instead:

1. Change the country or region on the Microsoft account profile.
2. Cancel the current Microsoft 365 Family subscription, or wait for it to expire if renewal is close.
3. After the existing subscription is gone, purchase a new Microsoft 365 Family subscription in the new country/region using billing details and a payment method from that country.

Important details:

• A new-region Microsoft 365 subscription cannot be purchased until the existing subscription for the old region is no longer active.
• If Microsoft 365 can’t be activated in a different region, the supported options are to wait for the current subscription to expire or cancel it.
• If the region change fails, common reasons include changing region within the last three months, a suspended account, or age-of-minor status differences between regions.
• For Microsoft consumer accounts, Microsoft recommends changing region only for a long-term move because some items from one region might not work in another.
• Microsoft account funds do not transfer between regions.

To change the Windows/Microsoft Store region setting:
