    Hi,

Based on your description, it sounds like Microsoft Teams or Windows may still have your previous organization's account stored on the device. As a result, Teams may continue trying to use the old credentials instead of your new work account.

To resolve this, please try the following steps:

1/ Sign out of Microsoft Teams:

    • Open Microsoft Teams.
    • Select your profile picture in the upper-right corner.
    • Choose Sign out.
    • Once signed out, sign back in using your new company account.

2/ Remove the old work account from Windows:

    • Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
    • Locate and select your previous company's account.
    • Click Manage or Disconnect (whichever option is available).
    • Restart your computer.
    • After the restart, open Teams and attempt to sign in with your new organizational account.

3/ Force Teams to use a different account:

If Teams continues to display the old account:

    • Completely close Teams, including from the system tray notification area.
    • Reopen the application.
    • Select Use another account or Sign in with another account.
    • Enter your new company email address and password.

    4/ Verify account setup:

If you're still unable to sign in, I would recommend contacting your new company's IT administrator to confirm that:

    • Your Microsoft 365 account has been created.
    • A valid Teams license has been assigned.
    • The account is enabled and ready for sign-in.

Additionally, if the computer was previously managed by your former employer, there may be residual management or enrollment settings that need to be removed before the device can fully authenticate with your new organization.

As a quick test, you can also try signing in through the Teams web app at https://teams.microsoft.com. This can help determine whether the issue is specific to the desktop application or affects your account more broadly.

I hope this points you in the right direction. Please feel free to share any updates or let me know how it goes, and I'll be happy to assist further.

    Kind regards,

If the PC keeps showing the old company account, remove that old work account from Windows and then add the new one.

    1. Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
    2. If the old company account is listed, select it and choose Disconnect.
      • This removes the old work account connection from the device.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. Go back to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school and select Connect.
    5. Choose Join this device to Microsoft Entra ID.
    6. Sign in with the new company account.
    7. Restart again, then use Switch user or sign in normally with the new company account.

If the old account still appears in Office apps after disconnecting it:

    1. Open Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager.
    2. Select Windows Credentials.
    3. Remove entries that reference the old work account.

If the account is a work or school account and sign-in still fails, use Work or school password reset or contact the new company’s IT admin.
