Word Cross-referencing Issue

In Word 365, I’ve created a document that leverages two Heading Styles, one is the default (i.e. Header 1, etc.) and the other I created myself (used for Annexures). The default Style uses SECTION numbers (Arabic) in Header 1 and the custom Style uses ANNEXURE letters (Alphabetic) in the top-level Header.

I’ve managed to set the numbering of Figures and Tables to align with the numbering in the Headers, however, when I create a use a Cross-reference to a Figure in the Sections area, the cross-reference returns the alphabetic numbering structure (which is reserved or Annexures). How can I fix this anomaly?

I found the issue (which was not an issue after all). I just needed to select the custom Caption I created. Simple, actually...

I'm glad you got it sorted. If you want more info, have a look at https://shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/numberingappendixes.html .
