In the Page Setup dialog box, see if Vertical Alignment is set to "Bottom." To display the dialog box, go to the (Page) Layout tab, and click the dialog launcher icon on the bottom right of the Page Setup group. Change the Vertical Alignment back to "Top."

This is usually caused by hidden white space in Word, which makes the cursor appear at the very top or behave oddly between pages.

    Try this:

    1. Open the Word document.
    2. Move the mouse pointer slowly to the top edge of the page or between two pages.
    3. When the pointer changes to the double-arrow/two-boxes indicator, double-click.
    4. This restores the top and bottom margins (white space).

If the cursor is stuck at the bottom of the document after a page break, that can also be a known Word issue in some Mac builds, but for Word on Windows the supported fix in the available guidance is to restore white space.
