Updating Dynamics GP 2018 generates "The stored procedure smGrantAccessOnAccountMSTR returned the following results: DBMS: 0 Microsoft Dynamics GP:" while updating our company database.

We have been attempting to upgrade our Dynamics GP version 18.5.1596 (2002) to version 18.8.1957 (2026). After installing the msp file, we run the GP 2018 Utilities application to update the databases. The DYNAMICS database completes, and then it moves on to our company database.

During the company database upgrade, it gets to the "Run Miscellaneous Scripts" step, and we see the error "The stored procedure smGrantAccessOnAccountMSTR returned the following results: DBMS: 0 Microsoft Dynamics GP:" and we cannot complete the process.

GP Utilities error

We have spent time addressing SIDs issues as well as other security & ownership concerns, and so far nothing is getting us past this issue.

Any thoughts on what we can try to get this issue resolved?

Thank you

Randall Baker

As this question is difficult to answer without knowledge about Dynamics, I would recommend you to seek help in a Dynamics forum, which you find here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5969599/unmanaged-tenant-holds-our-company-domain-external

To get help here from persons like me who know SQL Server well, but who don't necessarily know anything about Dynamics, we would at a minimum need to see the code of the stored procedure.
