I purchased a laptop with Microsoft 365 (1 year subscription) on it. However the laptop keeps telling me to enter some key or renew my subscription.

    Hi, @Kimberly Gonzales

If the laptop came with a 1-year Microsoft 365 subscription, you normally should not need to purchase another subscription or enter a new product key once it has been activated.

Please check this first: https://account.microsoft.com/services Sign in with the Microsoft account you used when setting up Office on the laptop.

    1. Do you see Microsoft 365 listed there as an active subscription?
    2. In Word or Excel, go to "File" > "Account." What does it show under "Product Information"?
    3. Was the 1-year Microsoft 365 subscription specifically included by the laptop manufacturer/retailer, or was it advertised as a free trial?

Any additional info about the issue you can provide will be helpful in diagnosing and resolving the issue.

    Thanks!

If Microsoft 365 was included with the laptop, make sure you activated the included subscription using the Microsoft account it was purchased with. The license may need to be redeemed rather than entering a separate product key. If it still asks you to renew, check the subscription status in your Microsoft account or contact the laptop retailer/Microsoft Support to verify the included license.
