So recently my microsoft account was stolen. I made a new one and i kept gettings this pop up "sign in so you don't miss out." very annoying, popped up everywhere and it wouldn't let me sign in. So I eventually figure out how to disable it, but now I have wanted to play minecraft, and whenever I open the minecraft launcher in bring up a tab about family safety, and then goes to the "sign in so you don't miss out" tab. The problem is that when i try to login, like before, it just closes when i input the login, and immedietly reopens. I already bought the game and I want to play but i can't even open the launcher without this message so is there any fix to this?

    Hello James Fitzgerald,

I understand that the sign-in loop is preventing you from opening Minecraft. Before troubleshooting the Launcher, could you confirm whether Minecraft was purchased on the stolen Microsoft account or on the new account?

If Minecraft was purchased using the stolen account, creating a new Microsoft account does not move the game license to it. The original account would need to be recovered before that purchase can be used again.

If Minecraft was purchased separately on the new account, confirm that the new account can sign in normally through a browser. If browser sign-in works but the Launcher still loops, the next step would be to troubleshoot the Windows/Xbox sign-in components rather than account ownership.

    Try this in order:

    1. Verify the new Microsoft account can sign in outside the launcher.
      • Open the Microsoft account sign-in flow in a browser and confirm the account works there first.
      • If the password is correct but sign-in still fails, use the Sign-in Helper tool.
      • If the account is not recognized, use the Sign-in Helper tool for that case as well.
    2. If the old account was inactive for more than two years, it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.
    3. Since the pop-up previously appeared across Windows and not just in Minecraft, turn off the Windows notification prompts that can trigger the “Sign in so you don't miss out” experience:
      • Open Settings > System > Notifications.
      • Expand Additional settings.
      • Clear:
        • Show the Windows welcome experience after updates and when signed in to show what's new and suggested
        • Get tips and suggestions when using Windows
      • Restart Windows.
    4. If the launcher still loops back to the sign-in prompt, use the Microsoft account guided sign-in tool to identify the correct recovery path.
    5. If the issue is specifically with verification or security prompts, use the verification code troubleshooting and account recovery help.
    6. If the account was stolen and access cannot be recovered through the sign-in and recovery tools, contact Microsoft Support. Support can route the case, but support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or change account details directly.
    7. If the problem is with a work or school account instead of a personal Microsoft account, use the work or school account password help path instead.
