Following a Windows update, my printer has stopped working. The printer setup wizard cannot find a driver for my printer If installing manually, I get the message TS3700 Driver is unavailable. Similarly the Canon setup app is unable to instal the necessary driver.

    Hi ,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out.

In addition to the steps provided by the Q&A AI, turn off your printer completely > Unplug the power and USB cables > Restart your computer > Wait 60 seconds > Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and test the connection.

If the issue persists, please mention your Canon pritner's model number so I can find a compatible driver.

Also, go to Start > Type system information and hit enter> Screenshot and post it back.

Since the problem started after a Windows update, use this order:

    1. Check the Windows version and system type.
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > About.
      • Note the Windows version and whether the PC is 64-bit or ARM based processor.
    2. Try updating the printer driver from Windows.
      • In Windows 11, go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the Canon printer > Manage > Update driver.
      • If Windows finds a compatible driver, test printing.
    3. If Windows cannot find a driver, remove and reinstall the printer.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the printer and choose Remove.
      • Restart the PC.
      • Go back to Printers & scanners and select Add a printer or scanner or Add device.
      • Let Windows install the recommended driver.
    4. Download a driver that exactly matches the PC type.
      • Use the printer manufacturer’s support site.
      • Download a driver that matches Windows 11 and the correct 32-bit/64-bit system type.
      • Avoid drivers marked for older or unsupported Windows versions unless no newer driver exists.
    5. If the issue began immediately after a recent driver update, roll back the printer driver.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Printers or Print queues.
      • Right-click the printer > Properties > Driver tab.
      • Select Roll Back Driver if available.
      • Restart the PC.
    6. If the Canon installer still fails and the PC is ARM-based, do not use the included installer first.
      • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select Add device instead of adding the printer manually, unless Canon provides specific Windows on ARM guidance.
    7. If Windows still does not recognize the printer, use Device Manager to reinstall the driver.
      • Open Start > Device Manager.
      • Expand Printers.
      • Right-click the printer > Update driver.
      • If no update is available, select Uninstall device.
      • Restart the PC so Windows attempts to reinstall the printer driver automatically.
    8. Restart both devices.
      • Turn off the printer for 10 seconds.
      • Restart the PC.
      • Turn the printer back on and test again.

If no Canon driver is available for the exact Windows 11 system type, a compatible driver may be needed. For 64-bit Windows, a driver for another printer model that supports the same printer emulation can sometimes work, then a Print Test Page can confirm whether it is usable.
