Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

To be able to assist you better, please clarify the following:

    • Is the microphone internal or external?
    • If it is external, does the microphone have a standard audio connector (Jack connector) or a USB connector, or is it connected via Bluetooth?

Share a screenshot of the "Recording" tab of the sound options.

    1. Press "Windows + R", type mmsys.cpl and press Enter;
    2. Select the "Recording" tab and take the screenshot.

Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Also, share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.

Try these Windows 11 checks in order:

    1. Confirm the correct input device is selected
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Input, select the microphone under Choose a device for speaking or recording.
      • Select the > next to the device, then run Start test under Microphone test.
      • If the test shows no activity, Windows is not receiving sound from that mic.
    2. Make sure the microphone is enabled and not disabled in sound settings
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound > Advanced > More sound settings.
      • Open the Recording tab.
      • Select the microphone, choose Properties, and make sure Device usage is set to Use this device (enable).
      • If the mic is disabled, enable it.
    3. Check microphone volume levels
      • In Start > Settings > System > Sound, make sure the correct mic is selected.
      • Open Device Properties or the microphone properties page.
      • On the Levels tab, raise Microphone and Microphone Boost.
      • Speak into the mic and check whether the test indicator moves.
    4. Check microphone privacy permissions
      • Go to Start > Settings > Privacy and select Microphone.
      • Turn on Allow access to the microphone on this device.
      • If the problem is with a specific app, make sure microphone access is also turned on for that app.
    5. Run the Windows recording troubleshooter
      • Go to Settings > System > Sound.
      • Scroll to Advanced.
      • Under Troubleshoot common sound problems, choose Input devices.
      • For more options, select All sound devices.
    6. If Windows detects the mic but it still records nothing, verify the connection and position
      • Make sure the microphone or headset is connected correctly.
      • Reposition the microphone closer to the sound source.
      • If it is Bluetooth, confirm it is paired and connected.
    7. If Windows is not properly detecting the microphone, reinstall the audio driver
      • Warning: uninstalling drivers temporarily removes audio devices until Windows reinstalls them.
      • Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
      • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the audio device and select Uninstall device.
      • If available, check Delete the driver software for this device, then select Uninstall.
      • Restart the PC.
      • If needed, return to Device Manager, right-click Sound, video and game controllers, and select Scan for hardware changes.
      • Then right-click the audio driver and select Update driver.
    8. Set the microphone as the default recording device
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Input, select the microphone to use.
      • In More sound settings > Recording, the same device can also be set for communications if needed.

If the microphone is visible but the test still shows no movement, the most relevant next steps are: raise the mic levels, check privacy access, and reinstall/update the audio driver.
