Each time I attempt to open excel, I get the attached message. I can click on yes or no but neither one works. If I click either it just goes away. I do have windows 10 and my laptop will not support windows 11. Attached is a screenshot showing you what it does.

    Follow these steps;

    Press Windows + R, type regedit, and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office<your Office version>\Excel\Options.

    Right-click the Options key and rename it to OptionsOLD (don't delete it, just in case).

    Restart Excel — this resets it to default settings.

    I cannot see any attachment. Please restart the computer first, and if you are still getting the same result in Excel, run a repair.

    Press Windows + R, type control, and press Enter.

    Go to Programs → Programs and Features.

    Find Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office in the list.

    Select it, then click Change (or right-click it and select Change).

    Choose Online Repair.

    Click Repair, then confirm.

    Wait for the repair to complete (this requires an internet connection).

    Restart your PC, then test your Office apps again.
