I transposed my account Pin inadvertently while using my desk top, Now my sign in option has been disabled. No on line solution has worked, I have NO access to the information on that desktop. I'm using my laptop to do this.

If you get this with PIN sign-in option, try signing in with other sign-in option, such as password.

Run lusrmgr.msc and go to Users > locate user > right click > properties > uncheck Account is locked out, if available. This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns

    Hi!

What exactly do you mean by "login option disabled"? Does Windows not let you enter the new PIN—showing only the password option—or does no login bar appear at all?

Please send a photo. The PIN is specific to each computer where you set up your account. If the "Forgot PIN" option didn't help, try logging in with your password if it's available (usually found under Sign-in options > Key icon).

    Please provide more details.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. On the sign-in screen, look for I forgot my PIN or I forgot my password.
      • If the account uses a PIN, select I forgot my PIN and follow the prompts.
      • If the account uses a Microsoft account password, select I forgot my password and reset it from the sign-in screen.
    2. If the PIN option is blocked, use a different sign-in method.
      • On the sign-in screen, select Sign-in options.
      • Choose password or Microsoft account sign-in if it is available.
    3. Restart the desktop.
      • A restart can clear temporary sign-in issues.
      • If updates are pending, use Update and restart.
    4. Try Safe Mode.
      • Note: Safe Mode sign-in works only with a password. PIN and biometric sign-in are unavailable there.
      • From the sign-in screen, hold Shift and select Power > Restart.
      • After restart, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
      • When the options appear, select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
      • If sign-in works there, the issue is not caused by basic drivers or default settings.
    5. If there are multiple accounts on the desktop, try another account.
      • On the sign-in screen, select another account from the lower-left corner.
      • If needed, select Other user and enter that account’s credentials.
    6. If the device still cannot be accessed, use the Windows sign-in recovery articles for the exact symptom:
      • Forgot your PIN
      • Change or reset your Windows password
      • Forgot your Microsoft account password
      • Windows Hello common issues and troubleshooting tips

If access is restored and the PIN needs to be changed afterward:

    • Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
    • Select PIN (Windows Hello) > Change PIN.
    • If the PIN is forgotten, select I forgot my PIN.
