My computer had / has an old work version of some MS products and when I downloaded MS 365, I wasn't able to use it because it kept asking for a login for a work version. This issue has popped up before and Microsoft staff walked me through deleting some .exe ? files. Now they don't have live support and I don't know how to fix this issue

Which Office products are listed in Installed Apps in Windows Settings? If you see more than one product there, uninstall the one you do not want to use.

As you are probably already know, subscriptions are typically called "Microsoft 365" while any one-time payment versions are called "Office." There may be a language description, such as "en-us" appended to the product name as well.

    Hi,

You may use the Office Uninstall Support Tool (Uninstaller Troubleshooter) to completely remove all Microsoft Office applications from your device and then install Microsoft 365 afterward.

Once you open the link, click Get Help App. When the tool launches, select Yes, then click Next. Choose the option to uninstall Microsoft 365, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

    To reinstall Office:

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. Sign in using the Microsoft account associated with your license
    3. Locate Microsoft Office and click Install
    4. This will download the Office installer
    5. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions

Once installed, open any Office app such as Word or Excel, then sign in using the Microsoft account associated with the purchase to activate Office.
