Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

If you’re using the New Outlook for Windows app with a personal account added, but you’re no longer receiving new emails, try signing out of your Microsoft account in Outlook and signing back in.

    To remove the account,

    1. Go to Outlook email Settings > Accounts > your Accounts > Manage > Scroll down and select Remove account from Outlook.

    User's image

    1. Once done, go to Accounts > Your Accounts Page and select Add Account.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft account again and see if you start receiving the emails again.

Let me know if you still need more help.

Since mail still arrives on the phone, the mailbox is likely working and the issue is limited to Outlook on the desktop.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Remove and add the account again in new Outlook.
      • Go to Settings > Accounts > Email accounts.
      • Remove the affected account.
      • Close Outlook completely.
      • Reopen Outlook and add the account again.
      • This refreshes the local sync data and often fixes one-device download issues.
    2. If the account password was changed recently, sign in again.
      • Select the icon next to the email account name.
      • In the sign-in prompt, select Continue.
      • Enter the current password.
      • If Outlook shows a message asking for an app password, get the app password from the email provider and use that instead of the regular password.
    3. Check whether Outlook is offline.
      • In Outlook, look for offline settings and confirm it is not restricted from syncing.
    4. If the desktop app still does not update, use Outlook on the web or switch to classic Outlook to confirm the problem is only in new Outlook on this PC.
    5. If classic Outlook is being used instead, repair the profile.
      • In Outlook, choose File.
      • Choose Account Settings > Account Settings.
      • On the Email tab, select the account, then choose Repair.
      • Follow the wizard and restart Outlook.
    6. Make sure Outlook and Windows are fully updated.
      • Install the latest Office and Windows updates.

If the issue started suddenly on 8/8/26 and only affects the desktop, the most direct fix is usually step 1: remove the account from new Outlook and add it back.
