Hey there! Nice to meet you!

You mentioned that your account was hacked. Do you see any unfamiliar email addresses/phone numbers upon signing in to your account or when resetting the password?

Just to confirm, did you have two-factor authentication (2FA) active on the account?

If yes, are you able to access the second factor of authentication?

Important: If you have an active 2FA, ACSR will inform you that your recovery request will be ignored. If you only receive a message that the recovery request is either successful or indicates insufficient information, this means that 2FA is disabled.

Also, may I know when was the last time you successfully signed in to your account?

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

If the account is blocked after unusual sign-in activity, start with the Microsoft Sign-in Helper. That is the primary path to unblock an Outlook.com account.

If access is restored, use this recovery sequence:

    1. Run a full antivirus or malware scan on the PC before changing the password.
    2. Change or reset the Microsoft account password.
    3. Review Outlook.com account settings that are commonly changed after a compromise:
      • connected accounts
      • forwarding
      • automatic replies
    4. If mail still is not working, check whether the mailbox or OneDrive storage is full, because a full mailbox or cloud storage can stop sending and receiving mail.

If the account still cannot be unblocked by entering the security code or by changing the password, use When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account. That path includes password reset guidance and a way to contact support.

If the issue is specifically that mail is not sending or receiving after the hack, also check whether the account password was changed recently and use the Microsoft account sign-in helper again if sign-in fails.
