Hello!

I hope you are all having a good day. I just wanted to ask a question about how to send an email to someone. This may sound stupid, but they have a discontinued account... is there any way to message them?

It's incredibly important for me to email them so that I can apologise for something. There were no banned words or anything, it was just an error because their account was discontinued. I'm not sure how to message them any other way due to not having their phone number, et cetera.

Please have a wonderful rest of your day / night. Thank you for taking the time to read through my question.

Kind Regards,

    Dear @Anonymous,

Could you please confirm whether the ***.onmicrosoft.com domain mentioned in the inquiry belongs to your tenant?

    There are two possible scenarios:

    1. If the domain belongs to your tenant: You should contact your IT Admin to review and update the outbound email settings. As the given image below, it appears that "your tenant" is currently blocking emails sent to external recipients. In case you do not know who is your IT Admin, kindly refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft SupportUser's image
    2. If the domain is unfamiliar to you and it is possibly related to recipient's tenant: The IT Admin of the tenant hosting the recipient’s account will need to review and configure the relevant mail settings. To help isolate the issue, you can also try sending an email to the same edu.au address from a different email account.

This test will help determine whether the issue is specific to the original sender or related to the recipient’s tenant configuration.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.
