    Hi Julie John

It sounds like the account is requesting a multi-factor authentication (MFA) verification code, but you're not receiving it through any available method. Based on you thread's tag that you are using a Microsoft 365 business account, your organization's administrator may have configured Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or authentication methods. So please contact your Microsoft 365 administrator to verify your registered authentication methods and ensure they are working correctly.

If you cannot access any authentication method, you can contact your organization's IT administrator and request a reset of your MFA settings by following this article: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

    I hope this information helps.

If the sign-in on the phone is asking for a code sent to Outlook and the code is not arriving, use this sequence:

    1. Stop requesting codes repeatedly. Too many attempts can trigger a temporary block and prevent Microsoft from sending more codes.
    2. Check the Outlook junk folder for the verification message. Valid verification codes come from @accountprotection.microsoft.com.
    3. If the code is supposed to go to a phone number, make sure:
      • the number is a mobile number, not a VOIP number
      • the phone is not blocking texts from unknown numbers
      • the message inbox is not full
    4. On the verification screen, select I don't have a code or Show more verification methods and try another method if one is available.
    5. Verify the security info on the account:
      • For a Microsoft personal account, go to Sign in, then select Update info.
      • For a work or school account, go to Sign in, then select Update info.
    6. If the verification email is being sent to another Microsoft email account, open the sign-in page in a private or InPrivate browser window, then open a second private window to sign in to the mailbox that receives the code. This avoids one Microsoft account signing out the other.
    7. Try signing in from another network, such as switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data.
    8. If the account is temporarily blocked, wait at least 24 hours before trying again. In some cases, waiting longer can help.
    9. If the problem is only in the Outlook mobile app, install the latest version of Outlook mobile.
    10. If sign-in still fails, use the Microsoft sign-in helper: Start

Support agents cannot send verification codes or change account details.
