how to open microsoft word without a license

Question

I'm unable to access Microsoft word because my license is not up to date. After opening the app , it show " Microsoft Office can't find your license for this application. A repair attempt was unsuccessful or was cancelled. Microsoft Office will now exit." what should I do to be able to use this app for typing and viewing documents.

Is there a one-time Office licence listed there like Office 2021 or Office 2024, or if that is a subscription, check the expiry date listed on your subscription, is that listed correctly.
