My laptop gets stuck during startup. Sometimes it goes into automatic repair too.

This started happening after a windows update/restart

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

    Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.

Please try each option one at a time, then see if Windows will boot to a stable system consistently.

    1

If there is an option to uninstall the latest update, that may be the best option.

    2

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Repair

See if Windows startup can repair itself

    3

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - System Restore

Check to see if you have a restore point you can go back to

Since this started after a Windows update and the laptop is hanging on the Acer logo or entering Automatic Repair, use Windows Recovery Environment and try the recovery options in this order:

    1. Force Windows into recovery if it does not open automatically:
      • Start the laptop.
      • As soon as Windows begins loading, press and hold the power button for 5–10 seconds to force a shutdown.
      • Repeat this twice.
      • On the third start, Windows should enter the Recovery Environment.
    2. Run Startup Repair:
      • In Windows RE, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair > Restart.
      • If prompted, enter the BitLocker recovery key.
      • Startup Repair can fix missing or damaged system files, corrupted boot configuration data, damaged MBR, incompatible drivers, and some registry errors.
    3. If Startup Repair does not fix it, try Safe Mode:
      • On the Advanced Boot Options screen, start in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking.
      • If Windows starts, restart the device once more. In some update-related startup failures, Windows then starts normally.
    4. If the issue began immediately after an update and recovery options are available, uninstall the latest update from Advanced options.
    5. If Windows still will not start and the problem appears update-related, use WinRE Command Prompt and run: DISM /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
      • This reverts pending update actions.
      • Risk: this changes pending update state. Use it only from WinRE for update-related boot failures.
    6. If the screen stays on the Acer logo and never reaches Windows loading, check whether it is stuck before Windows starts:
      • Disconnect external peripherals.
      • Check whether the hard drive activity light works.
      • Press NumLock and see whether the indicator toggles.
      • If the indicator does not toggle, the system may be stuck in the BIOS phase, which points to a hardware issue.
    7. If the screen is black with a blinking cursor or boot files are damaged, Startup Repair from Windows installation media is the recommended next step:
      • Boot from Windows installation media.
      • Select Next > Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

If Startup Repair runs, a log is created at %windir%\System32\LogFiles\Srt\Srttrail.txt, which can help identify what failed.
