    Hi Bob Tidd,

I can understand why this is frustrating when the email works on your phone but the calendar does not. The Office 2021 purchase itself does not determine whether the calendar can sync. What matters is the type of email account you use and whether the appointments are saved online or only on the computer.

At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.

To help narrow this down, please check these two details:

    • What does your email address end with, for example @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @gmail.com or something else? You can share only the part after the @ sign.
    • In Outlook 2021 on the computer, is the calendar listed beneath your email address or does its name include This computer only?

If the appointments are in a computer-only calendar, the phone cannot access them directly. They would need to be placed in the calendar of an account that supports online calendar syncing. While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.

If email is syncing to the Android phone but calendar is not, the most likely cause is that the account on the phone is not set up in a way that supports calendar sync, or calendar sync is turned off.

    Use these steps in order:

    1. In Outlook on the Android phone, open Calendar.
    2. Tap the three lines in the top-left corner.
    3. Under the email account list, make sure Calendar is selected for that account.

    Then check phone permissions:

    1. On the Android phone, open Settings > Applications > Outlook.
    2. Make sure Contacts is enabled.
    3. Open the Outlook app again.
    4. Go to Settings > tap the account > turn on Sync Contacts.

If calendar items still do not appear:

    1. In the Outlook app, go to Settings > tap the account that is not syncing > tap Reset Account.
    2. Check whether appointments now appear.

If that still does not fix it:

    1. In Outlook on Android, go to Settings > tap the account > Delete Account > Delete From This Device.
    2. Add the account again.
    3. If setup asks to add the account as IMAP or POP, do not use that for calendar syncing. IMAP and POP do not sync calendar and contacts. Calendar and contacts need Exchange ActiveSync support.

If the goal is to see Outlook calendar items inside the phone’s built-in Samsung or Android Calendar app as well:

    1. In Outlook for Android, go to Settings > Calendar.
    2. Turn on Sync calendars.

That lets Outlook export calendar items to the phone’s default calendar app. Two-way calendar export is supported for Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, and hybrid modern authentication for on-premises mailboxes.

Important: if the Outlook 2021 computer account is using an email provider that only supports IMAP or POP, email can sync but calendar will not sync to the phone. In that case, the issue is the account type, not the Outlook 2021 purchase itself.

If this used to work and then stopped, also check whether the same calendar appears correctly on the computer and whether new test events appear there first. If needed, use Reset Account in Outlook mobile, then remove and re-add the account.

If the account is a work or school Microsoft 365 or Exchange account, contact the Microsoft 365 admin or technical support. If it is an Outlook app or Outlook.com account issue, contact Microsoft support or open an in-app Outlook support ticket.
