I have several email accounts, but when I send an email to one of my accounts, the email does not appear in my outlook on my laptop, but does appear in my outlook on my iPad.

I’ve tried repairing the account on my laptop and that temporarily fixes the issue I.e. the email is received, but next emails don’t sync again.

Ive also tried removing the account and re adding it to outlook on my laptop and that also doesn’t work.

My email addresses are all BT email accounts.

When adding the account are you using the Yahoo option? BT use their platform afaik. Also are you asked to authenticate adding the account where you’re taken to your BT account online & asked to sign in?

Is Outlook the basic email app on Windows or the full Outlook program?

    Is there any error message?

Since the account works on the iPad but not reliably in Outlook on the laptop, the issue is likely with the Outlook profile or how the BT account is configured in Outlook on Windows.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Check the account type in Outlook on the laptop
If the BT account was added with the wrong account type, mail and folders may not sync correctly. For example, Outlook requires the correct account type for the mailbox being added.
    2. Force a manual sync in Outlook
In Outlook, use the Sync button on the View tab. A status message should appear at the bottom of the message list while Outlook is syncing.
Note: third-party email accounts such as POP and IMAP accounts do not have the same manual Sync capability.
    3. Create a new Outlook profile instead of only repairing or re-adding inside the existing profile
Since repair and re-adding only helped temporarily, create a completely new mail profile:
      • Close Outlook.
      • Press Windows key + R, type outlook /profiles, then select OK.
      • In Choose Profile, select Options > New.
      • Enter a new unique profile name and select OK.
      • Choose Advanced options > Let me set up my account manually.
      • Enter the BT account password, then choose Connect.
      • If setup fails, select Change Account Settings and enter the server details provided by BT for IMAP or POP.
      • In Choose Profile, select Set as default profile and select OK.
    4. If Outlook never prompts for the password during setup
On the IMAP details page, make sure Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is unchecked.
    5. If mail is still missing only on the laptop after recreating the profile
Compare whether the account is configured the same way on all devices. Differences in account type can affect sync between devices.

Because BT is a third-party mail provider, the most relevant Outlook-side fix from the available guidance is to set the account up manually in a fresh profile as IMAP or POP using the provider’s server settings. IMAP is typically the sync-focused option when the same mailbox is used across multiple devices.
