    Hi Raymond Jenkins,

I understand that you are trying to change the primary email address associated with Outlook, but the account page is not providing a clear way to complete the change.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access or modify Microsoft accounts.

To narrow this down, could you confirm:

    1. Is this a personal Microsoft account using Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, or MSN, or a work or school account?
    2. On the Microsoft account alias-management page, what options appear next to the current primary address and the other address, such as Add email, Remove, or Change?
    3. Are you trying to use a newly created Outlook.com address or an address from another provider?
    4. Does any message appear when you attempt the change?

For a personal Microsoft account, aliases are email addresses associated with the same account. They share the account’s contacts, storage, subscriptions, settings, and password. The current support instructions allow you to open the alias-management page and select Add email to add another address, or Remove beside an existing address. The article does not currently provide a Make primary step.

Please do not select Remove for an address you still need. Instead, contact support for account-specific guidance:

    1. Go to Outlook.com and sign in.
    2. Select the Help icon, the question mark, in the upper-right corner.
    3. In the Help pane that opens, search for "cannot receive emails", then press Enter.
    4. Scroll down the page until you see "Still need help?", click Yes.
    5. Choose "Chat with a support agent in your web browser."
    6. Review the issue description and confirm an email address you can access.
    7. Click Confirm to create the service request. The screen will indicate that your request has been submitted and the system is connecting you to Outlook.com live chat support, which may take a moment to load.

Support can review the available options, although support agents cannot directly access or change account details.

I hope this helps you identify the available account options and reach the appropriate support channel.
