Dear OneDrive Support Team,

I hope this email finds you well. I am following up on my previous request regarding the recovery of my deleted OneDrive files. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted some important files, and they no longer appear in my Trash, which leads me to believe they have been permanently deleted.

I initially reached out around last week, but I have not yet received a response. I would appreciate any updates on the status of my request, as these files are crucial to me.

If any further details are required to assist in the recovery process, please let me know, and I will be happy to provide them.

Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Maneera

    Hey there, Maneera

I initially reached out around last week, but I have not yet received a response. I would appreciate any updates on the status of my request, as these files are crucial to me.

Looking at your community profile, it seems as though this thread is the first thread you have created. So I am guessing you had reached out to OneDrive support using the get help option within the OneDrive app or on the OneDrive website. If this is the case, you should have received a customer reference number you can use to reach out to support again so they can look into this for you.

If you are wanting an update, please respond to the email or create another support request directly with Microsoft support. They can look into this and tell you what is happening.

If any further details are required to assist in the recovery process, please let me know, and I will be happy to provide them.

Please can you sign into your Microsoft account here: https://onedrive.live.com/?v=managestorage&sw=bypassConfig

Once you have signed into your account, please can you click onto "Restore your OneDrive" from the left-hand menu.

You will need to verify your identity, by signing into your account and verifying your sign-in using your two-factor authentication. Once you have one this, it will provide you with an option to choose a date you would like to restore OneDrive from. Please click onto the drop-down menu and select the option from the list of available options

This will then restore OneDrive to the date you have selected. This may restore your files.

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan

For a personal OneDrive account, deleted items stay in the OneDrive Recycle Bin for 30 days unless the Recycle Bin was emptied earlier. If the files are no longer in the Recycle Bin, standard recovery is very limited.

    Recommended checks:

    1. Sign in to OneDrive on the web and search for the files using Search everything. Search by filename, file type, date, or related words.
    2. In OneDrive on the web, open Recycle bin and check whether the files are there. If the files were in Personal Vault, select Show Personal Vault items first.
    3. Check whether the files were saved under another Microsoft account and sign out/sign back in with that account if needed.
    4. Check the local device:
      • In Windows, open Recycle Bin, select the files, right-click, and choose Restore.
      • Search the local OneDrive folder in File Explorer in case a local copy still exists.
    5. If using Microsoft 365, try Restore your OneDrive to roll back the entire OneDrive to an earlier point within the last 30 days. Note: files created after the restore point are moved to the OneDrive Recycle Bin.

    Important limits:

    • If a file has been permanently deleted from the OneDrive Recycle Bin, it cannot be recovered.
    • Support agents cannot access files directly or provide recovery beyond the documented options.
