Unnecessarily charged 8 times for the ONE Microsoft 365 subscription

Now, while it doesn't make sense that a company attempts to make the same charge over and over again, I understand things happen. However, I hit subscribe ONCE and needed to confirm with my bank. I did. Checked my bank account, and no charges. I hit subscribe once more and yay. Subscribed. Now I've got 1 Microsoft 365 subscription and 8 repeat charges.

I have attempted calling. it would seem I am now blocked on just about every available number. I have attempted to find this illusive "Live Chat" it seems to me it is none existent. I attempted to add my phone number to my account, allegedly the only way I can get assistance, this is not an option I can find or access. And according to Microsofts benevolent AI Microsofts representatives are incapable of helping with my problem, so goodbye.

Please. Pray tell. How is one to acquire support through Microsoft, via Community Forums? In the mean time, must my bank account sit $700 shy of what it's meant to be...

This forum is just a user to user forum, for account security and to protect users, no-one here has any account access, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option

Community forums cannot fix duplicate or unauthorized Microsoft 365 billing charges because billing adjustments require Microsoft Support.

For a Microsoft 365 for home subscription, use the support contact flow:

    1. Open Get Help on the web.
    2. Enter the billing problem.
    3. Select Get Help.
    4. If self-help does not resolve it, select Contact Support.
    5. Choose the Microsoft 365 and Office billing/subscription option and use chat or request a call if offered.

Before contacting support, check these common causes of repeated charges:

    1. Authorization holds: a bank can show temporary holds in addition to the actual charge. These typically clear within 3–5 business days.
    2. Duplicate orders: review order history for more than one submitted purchase.
    3. Multiple charges for separate items: if applicable, separate fulfillment can create separate charges.
    4. If the charges are confirmed as genuine duplicate charges, contact Microsoft Support with the order details.

If the issue is tied to sign-in or account access while trying to reach support, use the Sign-in Helper. Support agents cannot send password reset links or directly change protected account details.

If phone support is not working, use the web support path instead. For Microsoft 365 for home, Microsoft also lists these support options:

    1. Search online help.
    2. Ask the Microsoft Community.
    3. Use the Get Help app or browser-based contact support flow.
