Good afternoon, I am trying to recover my origianal email. I have not accessed it in years. I didnt think I could to be honest.

I am trying to access my old Myspace but they need the email that it was set up with. I believe it was set up with this one but I cannot access it. I tried the recovery process but it said I attempted to sign in too many times.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Since you mentioned that you haven't signed in to your account for years, I'm afraid your account may have already been deleted/closed due to inactivity.

As stated by Microsoft, accounts that have not been signed in or have been locked for more than 2 years will be deleted due to inactivity, and they can no longer be recovered: https://support.microsoft.com/topic/microsoft-account-activity-policy-7c0a9fa7-0982-b7c6-fd72-df852b63699f

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

If the account shows "you tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect password", the supported next step is to use the Sign-in helper tool to check for account issues.

If the account is still recoverable, try this path:

    1. Go to Recover your account and enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name for the old Microsoft account.
    2. Choose where to receive the security code, select Next, enter the requested info, and select Send code.
    3. Enter the code in Verify your identity.
    4. Set a new password.

If the listed verification methods are no longer available:

    1. Use the account recovery form.
    2. Complete it from a device and location previously used with that account if possible.
    3. Provide as much detail as possible, including old passwords, contacts, exact email subject lines, Skype details, or Xbox console details if those applied to the account.
    4. Use a working email address that can receive updates about the recovery request.

    Important limits:

    • If two-step verification was enabled and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, the account cannot be recovered through support or the recovery form.
    • Support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details.
    • If the account has not been used for a very long time, it may no longer be available.

For the specific too many attempts error, start with the Sign-in helper first.
