cant change date and time manually on my computer

trying to change the date and time on my computer and the set time automatically button isnt available

so then i go into this page to try change it, and when i press "OK", it says an error has occurred.

Open the Settings App.

Go to Accounts.

Select Access Work or School, is there is a work or school Email listed there?

If there is any work or school account listed there, select it, and disconnect the account, then restart (not shut down) your PC.

If that was not the cause of the problem, open the Settings App.

Go to Privacy - Location.

If the Location settings are not enabled, enable them, then restart (not shut down) your PC to apply the change.

hi! thank you for your response. this used to be a school laptop, however since i left the school ive been told that they have 0 control over my account now, so it technically shouldnt be an issue. how do i fix this?

Thank you for that information.

The group policies applied to that device by your school have not been removed form that device, try this fix.

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd

On the resulting list, right click Command Prompt and select 'run as Administrator'

Paste each of these commands into Command one at a time and press Enter, wait for each command to complete, before running the next command, if you receive an error on any command, ignore that and continue to the next command.

reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f

reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies" /f

reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Policies" /f

reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender" /v DisableAntiSpyware

reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f

reg delete "HKCU\Software\Policies" /f

reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Policies" /f

Then, close Command Prompt and restart (not shut down) your PC
