I received an email and it got cut mid way and I can't see the rest. These emails tend to be on the longer side, but I've never had this problem before until today. Has there been any updates that could have caused this? It's fine on Outlook online, the issue is just with the desktop app.

    Hello @Saz Turner

To better understand what may be causing this issue in Classic Outlook, could you please help confirm a couple of details?

1/ Do other recipients of the same email experience the same issue, or does it only occur on your side?

If possible, please check with another recipient to see whether they can view the entire email content without any problems.

2/ When the email content gets cut off in the middle, do you see the option to expand or view the rest of the message?

    • If yes, what happens when you click it?
    • Do you receive any error message, or is the remaining content simply not displayed?

Along the way, I will also share a few simple steps you can try to double‑check what might be happening on your end.

In the meantime, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1/ Open the email in a separate window

Double-click the email to open it in a new window, then check whether the full content is displayed there.

2/Fully close and reopen Classic Outlook

Please completely exit Outlook and ensure no Outlook processes are running in the background. Then reopen Outlook and check the email again.

    3/ Reset the Outlook view

Sometimes display issues can be caused by a corrupted view setting. Please try resetting the Outlook view:

    • Open Classic Outlook.
    • Select View > Reset View.
    • Reopen the email and check whether the issue persists.

4/ Open Outlook in Safe Mode

This helps determine whether an Outlook add-in is causing the problem.

    • Press Windows + R.
    • Type outlook.exe /safe and press Enter.
    • Open the affected email and check whether the full content is displayed.

5/ Check Outlook on the web

If possible, please access your mailbox through Outlook on the web and review the same email. This will help us determine whether the issue is related to the email itself or only to the Classic Outlook client.
