    Hi, good day!

Note: It is always recommended to download and install drivers from the manufacturer's Support page. If you're not experiencing any hardware issues, there's no need to install this driver update.

Please try to Pause updates for 1 week then restart your computer

    After that, click Resume updates

See if this fixes the issue.

If the issue persists, please check if you can still use the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the driver update. Window Update won’t install hidden drivers or updates. Run the troubleshooter then please try hiding the HP - Printer - 61.2509.0.100 driver update that will show in the list. You may try restarting your pc if it helps.

In case it was blocked from the browser, click 3 dots next to the download file

Select Keep > Keep anyway to complete the download process

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comment" below.

0x800f020b is a device driver setup error. For an HP printer driver update offered through Windows Update, the practical fix is usually to skip that driver if the printer is not currently needed or not having problems.

    Try these options in order:

    1. Use Windows Update first Windows Update is the recommended method for printer drivers. If the same HP driver keeps failing, move to the next step.
    2. Install the latest driver directly from HP instead of Windows Update
      • Identify the exact printer model.
      • Go to the printer manufacturer’s official support or drivers page.
      • Download the latest driver for the installed version of Windows.
      • Run the downloaded installer and complete setup. This often works better than waiting for the optional driver from Windows Update.
    3. If the printer already works, hide or ignore the failing driver update Microsoft Q&A guidance for this error indicates Windows Update can sometimes offer a printer driver that is not required on the system. In that case, hiding that driver update stops Windows from repeatedly trying to install it.
    4. Reinstall the printer If the printer is installed but not working correctly:
      • Remove the printer.
      • Add the printer again.
      • Then run Windows Update to get the latest available driver. Reinstalling can force Windows to refresh the printer driver installation.
    5. Use the Add Printer Driver Wizard as a last resort If Windows Update and the HP installer do not help:
      • Open Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select Printer server properties.
      • Open the Drivers tab.
      • Select Add....
      • In the wizard, select Windows Update on the Printer Driver Selection page.
      • After the printer list refreshes, choose HP and then the correct printer model. This method is described as a legacy, last-resort option.
    6. If using an ARM-based PC Do not add the printer manually with the manufacturer installer unless the manufacturer provides specific ARM guidance. Instead go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners and select Add device.

If the HP printer is no longer connected or no longer used, the most effective path is to hide that specific driver update so Windows Update stops retrying it.
