I can't update my windows 11 insider beta version (26220.8925)

I've been stuck on 26220.8925 I've been trying to get to the latest version which is (26220.9223) also tried to get .9022 a few weeks ago and it failed for the past month I have been stuck on the July version (26220.8925) I tried to update it would download get to 90% then say undoing changes I have no clue what's going on here im receiving error code 0xc1900101

Try downloading the new 26220.9202 .iso from here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso

Download the iso to your desktop, when complete right click the file and select mount. This will create a drive in Windows Explorer that you can open and run Setup from. You can do an in-place upgrade keeping your files.

Did a quick search on that error, points to a few different things. You might want to do a search and look at the results. They mention drivers, not enough disk space and other things.

Hi Brandon Onwukwe,

I would check I have the latest bios installed, and then make sure I have the latest drivers for my hardware from the manufacturer web site, check the device manager for any errors and dis-connect any external hardware not needed for the update.

I would also delete the WU update download folder and then try again.

If you want a more detail info on how to delete the WU download folder let me know.

Have you also run sfc /scannow and DISM on your system?

0xc1900101 is a broad error code generally pointing at drivers.

which laptop or motherboard are you running for Insider?

Can you list your installed bios version please?

To delete the contents of WU download folder do the following <

open CMD admin and paste the following

net stop wuauserv net stop bits net stop cryptsvc

then go to the following folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download, and delete all the contents inside.

net start wuauserv net start bits net start cryptsvc

Restart the computer and double check that C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download, download folder is empty, try WU again.

If you still get an error let me know the full error code and also send me the failure logs by

open PowerShell admin

Get-WindowsUpdateLog

which will produce a log here C:\Users<your user name>\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.log

Save the log to OneDrive or whatever online drive you use and share a link to it, I will try and see why the WU is falling.
