    Hi B Miller,

To better understand what's causing the buzzing, could you provide a little more detail about the issue?

    • Are you using built-in speakers, external speakers, Bluetooth speakers, or a headset?
    • Does the buzzing happen only when people are speaking, or does it also occur during music, game audio, and Windows system sounds?
    • Does the issue occur in all browsers and apps, or only on Facebook and YouTube?
    • If you play a local video or music file stored on your PC, does the audio sound normal?
    • Does the sound become distorted immediately, or only after audio has been playing for a while?
    • Have you tested with headphones? If so, does the same buzzing occur there?
    • Did the issue start after a Windows update, driver update, or any recent hardware changes?
    • Is the buzzing constant, or does it only happen at higher volume levels?
    • Is the sound best described as:
      • Buzzing/static
      • Crackling
      • Robotic voices
      • Echoing
      • Muffled/distorted speech
    • What is your computer model?

The detail that it sounds "weird while listening to someone talking" is particularly helpful because speech-only distortion can point to a different cause than a speaker defect. Knowing whether music sounds normal and whether headphones are affected will help determine if we're dealing with a speaker issue, an audio processing feature, a driver problem, or something specific to streamed video audio.

    Hi ,

Search for msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here so we can see the correct laptop model or desktop configuration.

Go to Device Manager, find the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, take a screenshot, and post it here.

Do you have the Realtek software installed on your Windows system?

    Thanks.

Try these steps in order on Windows 11:

    1. Check the output device.
      • Select the Speakers icon on the taskbar.
      • Select the arrow next to the volume slider.
      • Make sure audio is playing to the correct device.
    2. Check hardware and volume controls.
      • Make sure speaker cables are firmly connected.
      • If using 3.5 mm jacks, confirm the speakers are plugged into the correct output jack.
      • Make sure the speakers are powered on.
      • Check that neither Windows nor the app volume is muted.
      • If the speakers use USB, try a different USB port.
      • If headphones are plugged in, unplug them and test again.
    3. Turn off audio enhancements.
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Output, select the speaker device.
      • Scroll to Advanced settings.
      • Set Audio enhancements to Off.
    4. Run the audio troubleshooter.
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
      • In Audio, select Run.
    5. Update or reinstall the audio driver.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the audio device and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
      • If that does not help, uninstall the device and restart the PC so Windows reinstalls the driver.
      • Save open work before restarting.

If the buzzing happens only on these speakers and not on other speakers or headphones, that points to a speaker hardware issue.
