You can certainly sync your Apple iCloud Account emails (only) with Classic Outlook using IMAP. I am doing that myself.

    See:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/getstarted/add-or-manage-an-icloud-email-account-in-outlook (Classic Outlook Tab)

But if you want to also sync your iCloud Contacts and Calendar with Classic Outlook, it gets much more complicated and requires the iCloud for Windows program. Very messy.

synched my new outlook with my yahoo email and outlook for ios. it stopped synching early this morning ...

Unless you have some compelling reason to use Classic, I would suggest that you work on getting your iCloud account to work with New Outlook for Windows.

Have you tried removing the iCloud account from New Outlook and adding it back again? Sometimes that will kick it into syncing again.

    • Right-click the account in the folder pane.
    • Select Manage account.
    • Choose Remove.

If that doesn't work, please advise and I'll offer some other ways to get New Outlook to start syncing with your iCloud account again.

    Hi scott yancey,

I understand that your Yahoo account is syncing in classic Outlook, but it has stopped syncing in Outlook for iOS.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors can provide guidance based on available support information but cannot access accounts or directly investigate the Outlook app.

Have you had a chance to try the relevant checks in the Q&A Assist answer? I would also like to add that classic Outlook and Outlook for iOS do not synchronize directly with each other. Each app separately connects to the Yahoo account.

Since you have already removed and re-added the account, open Outlook for iOS and select Settings > your Yahoo account > Reset Account, then check whether new messages and folder changes appear. This is the recommended in-app step for an account that is not synchronizing. Review the Outlook mobile synchronization steps

If the issue continues and you need direct assistance, the best option is to contact Outlook Mobile Support from within the app:

    1. Open Outlook for iOS.
    2. Select the account menu in the upper-left corner.
    3. Select the? at the bottom.
    4. Select Contact Outlook Mobile Support and describe the synchronization issue.

Alternatively, you can return to Contact Microsoft Support:

    1. In the search bar provided on the page, type "Outlook issue" and press Enter.
    2. Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.
    3. Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.
    4. When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".
    5. For the category, choose "Outlook".
    6. Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
    7. Confirm your personal email when prompted - this is the email Microsoft will use to communicate with you during and after the support session.
    8. Explain your situation clearly: Be concise but provide all the relevant details.

When replying, please also clarify whether the missing items are email or folders, calendar, or contacts, and whether those same items appear when you sign in directly to Yahoo Mail in a browser.

    I hope this helps.

Yahoo mail can sync in Outlook Classic, but calendar and contacts will not sync to Outlook for iOS if the account is added as IMAP or POP. IMAP and POP sync email only.

For this scenario, use these checks:

    1. In Outlook for iOS, confirm what account type was added.
      • If the Yahoo account was added as IMAP or POP, only email will sync.
      • Calendar and contacts require an account type that supports Exchange ActiveSync.
    2. If the issue is email sync in Outlook for iOS and it worked before, remove the mobile device partnership and reconnect:
      • Sign in to Outlook on the web.
      • Go to Settings > General > Mobile devices.
      • Select the device and delete the device partnership.
      • Select Save.
      • Power off the iPhone completely.
      • Restart it, then sync the mailbox again.
    3. If Outlook for iOS still does not sync after re-adding the account:
      • If the mailbox works on the computer, the issue may be with the mobile email app.
      • Microsoft recommends using Outlook mobile for email and calendar management, but if the account is not syncing correctly in the app after setup, support may depend on the account type and provider.
    4. For Yahoo in Outlook apps:
      • Outlook.com no longer supports adding or syncing third-party accounts like Yahoo as connected accounts inside Outlook.com.
      • Non-Microsoft accounts can still be added to Outlook mobile and Outlook desktop.
    5. If the goal is to keep non-Microsoft account data in the Microsoft cloud experience:
      • New Outlook for Windows supports Microsoft cloud sync for Gmail and Yahoo accounts.
      • Outlook for iOS supports Microsoft cloud sync for Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, and IMAP accounts.
      • Classic Outlook uses different setup and behavior than new Outlook.

If only email is expected, Outlook Classic and Outlook for iOS can both work with Yahoo. If calendar or contacts are expected to sync the same way, IMAP/POP will not provide that.
