Unable to sign in to Word with a student address - Microsoft

I have been trying in vain to connect with my student email address (Université Grenoble Alpes) since the beginning of the summer, in vain. I waited until I finalized my registration for Master 2 at the beginning of the week to find out if it was a problem related to the need to renew it to be able to access the Microsoft 365 student pack.

Although I can now connect to Microsoft, I am still unable to access Word. After entering my login information, the page does not load: only the blue Word icon is displayed and an error message appears from time to time.

I would like to be able to unblock my Word account because it is very useful for the faculty and ESPECIALLY because I have a job to hand in for the start of the school year, which I had anticipated before the beginning of the summer and which is therefore now inaccessible to me.

Thanks in advance

    Hi @Reed Alana

Since you can sign in to Microsoft successfully, but Word remains stuck on the blue Word icon and occasionally shows an error, I’d like to narrow down whether this is related to your Microsoft 365 license, the browser session, or the Word application.

First, please go to the following page and check the Subscriptions section: https://portal.office.com/account/?ref=Harmony#subscriptions. Please let me know which Microsoft 365 license is currently listed there.

Also, could you confirm the following:

    1. Are you trying to access Word on the web through a browser, or are you trying to open the Word desktop application?
    2. If you are using Word on the web, does the same issue occur when you open Word in an InPrivate/Incognito window?
    3. When the error appears, could you provide the exact error message or a screenshot?

As an additional step, since this is an education account, your Microsoft 365 license and account settings are managed by your university. Please contact your university’s IT Help Desk or Microsoft 365 administrator and ask them to verify that your account has an active Microsoft 365 Education license assigned.
