To request a refund for Microsoft 365 charges purchased directly from Microsoft:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account used for the subscription.
- Find the subscription and select Manage.
- Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
- Follow the cancellation steps. Refund eligibility is determined automatically during cancellation.
Key refund rules:
- Not all cancellations result in a refund.
- In most cases, a refund may be available within 30 days of the initial purchase or before the first recurring billing date, whichever is sooner.
- A refund of the most recent recurring billing charge may also be available if cancellation happens within 30 days after payment. This is limited to one time per Microsoft account, per subscription product.
- If no refund is issued, access to Microsoft 365 typically continues until the end of the current billing period.
If the subscription was purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store, cancellation and refund must be requested through that store’s support.
For unexpected or unrecognized charges, use the Manage your payments page and select Investigate.
