Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Please note that our forum is a public platform, and I modified your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.
Hi Serdar BOSTANCI,
I understand that emails from 2005 through 2010 are no longer visible in your Hotmail mailbox, and you would like to know whether they can be recovered.
Please note that this is a user-to-user Q&A forum, so contributors cannot access your mailbox, server records, or backups.
First, sign in to Outlook.com from a computer and check the following:
- Search using a known sender, subject, or keyword, then set the search scope to All folders.
- Check the Archive, Deleted Items, and Junk Email folders.
- Open Deleted Items, then select Recover items deleted from this folder at the top of the message list.
- If the messages appear, select them and choose Restore.
Messages removed from Deleted Items are recoverable for only a limited period. If the emails are not listed under Recover items deleted from this folder, they have probably been permanently removed and might no longer be available for recovery. See Recover and restore deleted items in Outlook.
Because these messages are from 2005 through 2010, you can ask Outlook.com support to check whether any server-side data remains:
- Go to Outlook.com and sign in.
- Select the Help icon, the question mark, in the upper-right corner.
- In the Help pane that opens, search for "email management", then press Enter.
- Scroll down the page until you see "Still need help?", click Yes.
- Choose "Chat with a support agent in your web browser."
- Review the issue description and confirm an email address you can access.
- Click Confirm to create the service request. The screen will indicate that your request has been submitted and the system is connecting you to Outlook.com live chat support, which may take a moment to load.
Support can check the available mailbox information, but recovery cannot be guaranteed if the messages are no longer retained on the server.
I hope the support team can confirm whether any of the older mailbox data remains available.
