"You are attempting to save a file type (Word 97-2003 Workbooks and Templates) that has been blocked by your File Block Settings in the Trust Center"

I have unchecked File Type Word 2007 and later documents and templates but I am unable to uncheck any others they are grayed out. I have been doing a save as and it changes the file type to a docx file, The big issue is I can't do this for every single file that I have. I am looking for a fix that will let me open all documents without any issues.

If all your files are in the older .doc file format, there is no native process available in Word to convert multiple files to the newer file format.

If you have a lot of files that need to be converted, put them all into one folder, then you can use the VBA script on this thread to convert all the files to .docx.

Please note, you must change the folder location in the script to the exact path of the folder that contains all your old Word files.
