    Hi Julian Me,

I can see you've already tried some of the common fixes, including resetting the Microsoft Store cache and reinstalling the Minecraft Launcher, so it would be helpful to narrow down exactly where the sign-in process is getting stuck.

At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.

    Could you let me know:

    • Are you using Minecraft Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, or the combined Minecraft Launcher?
    • When you click Sign In, does a Microsoft sign-in window ever appear, or does the button simply remain pressed with no further action?
    • Are you able to sign in to the Xbox app on the same PC?
    • Are you able to sign in to the Microsoft Store with the same Microsoft account?
    • Did this start happening after a Windows update, account change, or any other recent system change?

In the meantime, please try signing out of the Microsoft Store (if signed in), restart the PC, then sign back into the Microsoft Store and finally launch Minecraft again. Since Minecraft depends on Microsoft account authentication services provided through Windows, the Store sign-in status can help identify whether the problem is related to the launcher itself or the underlying sign-in components.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors, including external Microsoft employees, cannot directly intervene in Microsoft products or access account information. However, the additional details above will help the community better understand what is causing the sign-in process to stall. Thank you so much for your understanding.

    Try this in order:

    1. Confirm the Microsoft account can sign in outside Minecraft
      • Open a browser and sign in to the Microsoft account.
      • If the account is not recognized, use the Sign-in Helper tool.
      • If the username/password stopped working, use Recover your account.
    2. Restart the PC
      • A restart can clear temporary sign-in issues.
      • If Windows updates are pending, use Update and restart.
    3. Check the internet connection from the sign-in screen or Windows session
      • Make sure the PC is online.
      • If Wi‑Fi is unstable, try Ethernet.
    4. Make sure Gaming Services is up to date
      • Open PowerShell as Administrator.
      • Run:
             get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

      • Then run:
             start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

      • Install Gaming Services from the Store page that opens.
      • This is a higher-risk repair step because it removes and reinstalls Gaming Services before reinstalling it.
    5. Make sure the Xbox app is up to date
      • Open PowerShell as Administrator.
      • Run:
             get-appxpackage Microsoft.XboxApp | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

      • Then run:
             start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9mv0b5hzvk9z

      • Install the Xbox app from the Store page.
      • This is also a repair step that removes and reinstalls the app.
    6. If Windows sign-in components are also acting up, test Safe Mode
      • On the sign-in screen, hold Shift and select Power > Restart.
      • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
      • Press 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
      • If sign-in works there, the issue is less likely to be basic drivers or default settings.
    7. If the Microsoft account still fails to sign in
      • Use the Sign-in helper to identify account issues.
      • If the username is no longer recognized after recovery attempts, contact support through the Microsoft support flow.
