We have received an invoice for our Azure services, and it has been flagged that the banking details have changed. Is there a way that this change can be corroborated and prove that isn't part of a scam or anything.

    Hello,

Please do not make the payment using the new banking details until the change has been verified through an independent Microsoft channel.

First, sign in directly to the Azure portal at https://portal.azure.com, then go to Cost Management + Billing > Invoices. Locate and download the corresponding invoice from the portal, and compare its invoice ID, amount, billing profile, and payment instructions with the invoice you received.

The available invoices depend on the billing account type and the permissions assigned to your account. Microsoft’s instructions are available here: View and download your Microsoft Azure invoice

If the billing account uses a Microsoft Customer Agreement with wire transfer as the payment method, Microsoft also publishes the applicable bank details by country or region here: Pay your Microsoft Customer Agreement invoice

Because the banking details have changed, the safest next step is to submit an Azure billing request and ask Microsoft to review the change before payment. In the Azure portal, select Help + support > Create a support request and choose a billing-related issue. Billing and subscription management support is available to Azure customers: Create an Azure support request

If the Azure services were purchased through a Cloud Solution Provider or reseller, contact that partner using independently verified contact information, as the partner may manage the billing relationship.

If the invoice cannot be located in the expected billing scope, you do not have permission to view it, or any details differ, do not treat that alone as proof of fraud. However, payment should be held until Azure Billing Support or the relevant partner has reviewed it.
