Welcome Owen Bordman,
Thank you for providing the details. Since you've already tried the standard troubleshooting steps and the Slim Pen 2 is no longer showing the LED light or entering pairing mode, I'd like to narrow this down a bit before suggesting further steps.
Could you please confirm:
- What Surface device model are you using (for example, Surface Pro 9, Surface Pro 11, Surface Laptop Studio, etc.)?
- When the pen is placed in the charging tray/keyboard, does the pen charging indicator in Surface settings show that it is charging?
- Have you tried pressing and holding the pen's top button for 20 seconds or longer while the pen is removed from the charger to see whether the LED flashes at any point?
- Approximately how old is the Slim Pen 2, and has it been dropped or exposed to liquid recently?
In the meantime, please try this quick test:
- Place the Slim Pen 2 in its charger or Surface keyboard charging slot for at least 30 minutes.
- Remove the pen from the charger.
- Press and hold the top button for 20 seconds, then release it.
- Watch carefully for any LED activity, even a brief flash.
