After I log in I am told I am being sent a code to verify my account but I never receive an email. The activity I am seeing is not legit and I do want to get it blocked

Do you mean that after you have entered your password, you get a screen that says you need to have a code sent to your alternate verification email before you can continue to logon?

Are you able to skip or ignore this screen and still access your account?

The activity I am seeing is not legit and I do want to get it blocked

Do you suspect this this screen is not a real Microsoft Security screen? (A screen shot would be very helpful)

Or are you worried that someone else might be trying to access your account, and that is why you are seeing this second verification step?

Hello, thank you for reaching out.

Your account may be temporarily blocked because Microsoft detected unusual activity in your account. When this happens, sign-in attempts may be blocked for 24 hours or, in some cases, up to 7 days.

Avoid repeatedly requesting verification codes, as doing so may reset the lockout timer on your account.

After 24 hours, check your Microsoft account’s recent activity page to see whether there has been any unusual activity:

    https://account.live.com/Activity

If you notice any activity you do not recognize, select “This wasn’t me.” This helps protect your account from unauthorized access. You may also be asked to reset your password. (OR)

You can reset your password using the link below:

    https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx

For additional security, enable two-factor authentication on your Microsoft account. This ensures that even if someone knows your password, they will not be able to sign in without the additional verification method.
