How does one handle hotmail that is turned into an alias on outlook during integration, and can I retrieve emails that disappeared.

I have managed to bring hotmail emails into a client.

Outlook | Web | Outlook.com | Email

    Hi, @MSBS

A Hotmail address and an Outlook.com address can be aliases on the same Microsoft account. If they are aliases, they use the same mailbox. Changing which address is the primary alias does not merge or move the emails.

First, sign in directly at https://outlook.live.com using the Hotmail address and check whether the missing emails are there. Also check "Deleted Items," "Archive," and "Junk Email."

    To help narrow this down:

    1. Are the Hotmail and Outlook.com addresses listed as aliases under the same Microsoft account?
    2. Are the emails missing when you check Outlook.com on the web, or only in the email client?
    3. Which email client did you bring the Hotmail emails into: New Outlook, Classic Outlook, Apple Mail, or something else?

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!
