In Excel, Ctrl+F11 is not the shortcut to open the VBA editor based on the provided Excel shortcut documentation.

    The documented Excel shortcuts are:

    • Alt+F11: opens the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Editor.
    • Alt+F8: opens the Macro dialog box to create, run, edit, or delete a macro.
    • F11: creates a chart sheet.
    • Shift+F11: inserts a new worksheet.

So the issue is not necessarily Windows or the computer. The expected shortcut in Excel is Alt+F11, not Ctrl+F11.

If macros need to be run or edited from the ribbon:

    1. Go to File > Options > Customize Ribbon.
    2. Under Main Tabs, enable Developer.
    3. Select OK.
    4. Open Developer > Macros to run a macro, or choose Edit to open it in the Visual Basic Editor.
