Using MS Classic Outlook 2024 and an external IMAP email account. The application did work previously: as the applications comes up it clearly shows my emails, but then it goes to a "Something went wrong" message box. I had changed my email account password before this happened- so I am sure that I need to administer my Outlook (or MAIL) accordingly. MS Outlook not permitting me to edit or change the account. I would like to find a way of deleting the outlook account and then re-add it.

I am not using MS classic outlook on this pc. I am using the outlook version that came with the wind 10 OS .. I would like to find a way of deleting the outlook account and then re-add it.

One method is to completely erase your New Outlook for Windows Profile and start from scratch.

If you can get to the New Outlook for Windows Settings:

    • View -> View settings -> Accounts > Your accounts
    • Pick an Account and [Manage]
    • [Remove]
    • (o) Remove from all devices (If you see it)

Nuke the profile. See the answer by "Hornblower409 Dec 11, 2025" in
