For a broad Windows 11 check-and-fix approach, use the built-in troubleshooters in Get Help and Settings.
- Open the Get Help app.
- Search for the troubleshooter that matches the problem, such as:
- audio troubleshooter
- Bluetooth troubleshooter
- camera troubleshooter
- Background Intelligent Transfer Service troubleshooter
- If prompted to allow diagnostics, select Yes.
- Let the scan complete.
- Follow the prompts until the issue is fixed or the tool reports results.
For general system troubleshooters in Settings:
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Go to System.
- Open Troubleshoot.
- Select Other troubleshooters.
- Run the troubleshooter for the affected area, for example:
- Network and Internet
- Printer
- Windows Update
For network problems in particular, the Get Help flow can run network tests and offer to restart the Ethernet adapter. If the issue continues after that, restart the PC.
Windows 11 can also offer recommended troubleshooting automatically for known problems. This requires an internet connection. In some cases, Windows runs the troubleshooter automatically for critical issues; otherwise, it offers the option to run or ignore it.
If the issue is specifically driver-related and advanced diagnosis is needed, Driver Verifier exists, but it is intended for advanced users and requires Administrator privileges. Run Verifier.exe and restart the computer.
