Can't activate Word

My microsoft word is locked and when I log in and try to activate im getting an error message. my subscription just renewed in July but for some reason I am locked out and not able to activate my subscription. How do I solve this?

Check that your subscription is active

Try to Sign in to your Microsoft account and go to Services & subscriptions. Make sure your Microsoft 365 subscription is showing there and that the renewal/expiration date is correct.

If you have more than one Microsoft account or email address, it’s also worth checking the others. Sometimes Word is signed into a different account than the one your subscription is connected to. Check if you have more than one version of Office installed

Having multiple versions of Microsoft Office installed can sometimes cause activation problems. On Windows, you can check this under Control Panel → Programs and Features and see if there are multiple Office installations. If there is an older version you no longer need, removing it and restarting your computer may help.

Are you using the Office apps on a Windows PC or on an Apple Mac computer?

If you are using the Office apps on a Windows device:

Before performing this process, please log into your Microsoft account on this link (https://account.microsoft.com/services/) and check to ensure your Microsoft 365 subscription is listed correctly on your account.

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Apps, then scroll down to find Microsoft Office

Select that and choose Modify - Online Repair

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation.

At the top left of your Mac desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?

Im on Mac running Sonoma 14.6.1

tried updating the apps but keep getting download error and update error messages

Thank you for that information, there is no problem indicated with your MacOS version, this problem is caused by the July update, the best option is to use the steps provided on this link to completely uninstall the Office apps, then go to your Microsoft account online to download and reinstall Office.
