OneDrives can't be merged. You need to download everything from the OneDrive you don't want, and then upload everything to the OneDrive you do want. Tedious as all get out, but it works, and it puts you in control of what gets moved and where it goes.

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. I understand that you are looking into merging two OneDrive's into one another.

Please take note that you will not be able to do it but you can use it side by side and if you are looking into using only one account then you can copy or transfer the files over from the OneDrive or from the Microsoft account that you will be using permanently.

You cannot merge two OneDrive accounts into one account.

    What can be done instead:

    1. Keep the account that should remain the primary one.
    2. Move files manually from the account tied to the email address being retired into the account being kept.
      • OneDrive storage stays separate between accounts.
      • Files can be copied or dragged and dropped from one OneDrive to the other.
    3. If both accounts need to be accessed on the same Windows PC, add them in the OneDrive app:
      • Select the OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area.
      • Select Help and Settings > Settings.
      • Open the Account tab.
      • Select Add an account.
      • Note: OneDrive on Windows supports multiple work or school accounts, but only one personal OneDrive account.
    4. If the sign-in prompt appears asking which account to use for the same email address, that means the same email is associated with both a personal Microsoft account and a work or school account.
      • To stop that prompt, rename the personal Microsoft account by changing its primary alias in Manage how you sign in.
      • Another option is to contact the organization if the conflict is caused by a matching work or school domain.
    5. After confirming files are moved successfully, stop using the old account or remove it from OneDrive if needed.

    Important limits:

    • Personal Microsoft accounts and Microsoft 365 work or school accounts cannot be merged.
    • You can have multiple work or school OneDrive accounts, but only one personal OneDrive account in the OneDrive app.
    • An email address already associated with a work or school account cannot be added as an alias to a Microsoft account.
